We work hard to make sure our guests have a wonderful experience while they are with us at The Pineola and we know you will love it here! Below are answers to common questions that guests have about our property.

WHAT TIME IS CHECK-IN?
Check-in for lodge rooms, cabins, and glamping: after 4PM
You will receive your personalized access code 24 hours prior to check-in and it will be active at 4pm on check-in day.

Check-in for RV and tent sites: after 2PM

WHAT TIME IS CHECK-OUT?
Check-out: 11AM
​
For lodge and cabin guests, please be aware that your door access code will stop working at 11AM.

DO YOU HAVE FREE WI-FI?
YES! Available throughout our entire property!
You will receive log-in and password upon check-in.
​
Most guests are able to stream very well, but we do get the occasional report that streaming was slightly buffered. We have Wi-Fi boosters throughout the property which help tremendously, but we are in a rural mountain setting. Most guests are very happy with our Wi-Fi, but if you are planning to use it for work-related video calls in the RV park, you may have more peace of mind if you bring a personal hotspot.
DO YOU HAVE LAUNDRY AND IRONS?
Yes! We have 2 coin-operated laundry rooms:

We have irons and small ironing boards in every accommodation.

IS THE PINEOLA DOG-FRIENDLY?
YES! And NO...
​

We do welcome friendly, well-behaved dogs OUTSIDE on the property and in the RV park... as well as inside in the Taproom!

Dogs are NOT permitted inside lodge rooms, cabins, or glamping options that are not specifically booked and pre-paid for as "dog-friendly"

If this occurs, you agree to have your on-file card charged a $100 Pet Cleaning Fee.

We do have 4 dog-friendly rooms (3 kings and 1 double queen), and you can choose them on our booking site.

The price of the dog-friendly rooms already include the one-time $50 cleaning fee.​

Please keep your pets on leashes!

Please pick up immediately after your pet, and throw away bags in one of our dumpsters:

Please do not leave your pet unattended.

Please do not let your pet be an annoyance (barking continually) or danger to other guests.

Owners whose dogs run loose, bark incessantly, or are aggressive to other guests may be asked to leave without refund.

DO THE ROOMS HAVE A MICROWAVE AND MINI FRIDGE?
Yes!​

All lodge rooms and cabins at least have a microwave and a mini fridge (the mini-fridge does not have a freezer section). We do also have ice on-site and ice buckets in rooms.​
​
Some cabins also have a more complete kitchen (see descriptions of each cabin for details).
DO THE ROOMS HAVE A COFFEE MAKER?
Yes!
​
All rooms have a standard hotel one-cup coffee maker with several packets of decaf and regular coffee, and powdered cream and sugar provided. The one-cup coffee maker is NOT a Keurig.
​
During May through October, we also have The Coffee Tin Truck which is open Wednesday-Sunday from 7am-11am, and offers specialty coffee and light breakfast options!
DO YOU HAVE ICE?
Yes!
​
Al rooms have an ice bucket, and the ice machine is on the backside of the long 2-story building, inside a door that is labeled with large, blue words saying "ICE".
WHAT TAXES AND FEES DO YOU CHARGE?
We do not charge any fees, but we are required to charge taxes (NC State Tax of 6.75% and Avery County Occupancy Tax of 6%).
CAN I GET EARLY CHECK-IN?
We can not guarantee that early check-in will be an option for you.

On busy weekends, it sometimes takes every minute we have for housekeeping to have every room perfect by 4pm

If we are able to grant you early check-in, the costs are as follows:

Between 3pm-4pm: $5

Between 2pm-3pm: $10

Between 1pm-2pm: $15

Between 12pm-1pm: $20

We aim to be able to offer early check-in for guests when we are able to, but it does take additional communication, logistics, and effort on all our staff's part to make it happen. Thank you for understanding that it is not a "given" and not always possible.

If you need to freshen up, shower, or change before your room is ready, feel free to use one of the two private bathrooms with showers located in the Bathhouse/Shed near the RV Park.
CAN I GET LATE CHECK-OUT?
You may request late check-out by texting back to any text you receive from us, using the link to the guest portal that is sent to you, or calling (828) 733-4979 - before 11am.
For an additional charge of $10, you may be able to extend your stay until 12pm. This fee will be applied to your on-file card.
DO YOU HAVE A BATHHOUSE WITH SHOWERS?
Yes! We have 2 private bathrooms with hot showers, sinks, and toilets!
Located in the right side of the large shed building in the RV Park, adjoining with the Laundry Room.
CAN WE HAVE CAMPFIRES?
YES! If done safely!

We have several propane fires on the Party Deck near the Taproom that you may use free of charge!

Please ask a staff member to light them for you.

Please turn them off when leaving.

For wood-burning fires:

Firewood is available for purchase at the store.

Keep your campfire contained in the designated firepit

Supervise your fire

Be sure that fire is extinguished before leaving

Feel free to gather dead wood and sticks that are already on the ground

The Forest Service asks against it to avoid bringing non-native bugs

Cut, remove, prune, or injure live trees or bushes

Drag limbs larger than the firepit into your campsite

DO YOU HAVE RECOMMENDATIONS FOR RV PARKING?

You will also check-in at front office before parking and our staff will be happy to help give you more guidance!

WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY?
You will receive a full refund if you cancel at least 48 hours before 4pm on your arrival date.
If you cancel with less than 48 hours notice, you will be charged a $50 cancellation fee and be refunded the rest of your deposit.
​
After you have checked-in, if you decide to cancel a night of your stay, that night will not be eligible for refund.
​
Please know that if you book through a third-party booking engine (Expedia/Booking.com/etc.), you will be charged according to their fees and policies.

DO THE ROOMS HAVE HAIRDRYERS?
Yes!

DO YOU OFFER STAY-OVER SERVICE TO THE ROOMS AND CABINS?
Yes!

While many hotels in the nation have dropped stay-over service, we do aim to offer it daily or every other day for short-term guests.
If you need something (like extra towels, coffee, etc.), please either ask a housekeeper if you see them walking around, or call (828) 733-4979, and we will do our best to accommodate you. You can also ask the Taproom staff or Front Desk staff during office open hours.
